MySQL 4.0.3-beta, has been released and is now available in source and binary form for a number of platforms from our download pages at http://www.mysql.com/downloads/ (http://www.mysql.com/downloads/) and mirror sites.
This is the first release of the current 4.0 development tree which has been labelled "beta". This means, that we will not add any new features to this code base, but rather focus on stabilizing this release. All new development efforts are now focused on the upcoming 4.1 version. Version 4.0 of the MySQL server includes many enhancements and new features in comparison to the previous version 3.23. You can see the changelog at
