New Release of MySQL 5.1.7 Community Edition (Beta)

This is the first beta release of MySQL 5.1. This release includes the following new features and changes:

  • Added the mysql_upgrade program that checks all tables for incompatibilities with the current version of MySQL Server and repairs them if necessary.
  • All subpartitions within a given partitioned table are now guaranteed to have unique names.
  • Added RENAME TABLE statement
  • Numerous MySQL Cluster bug fixes
  • And more.

New Release of MySQL 5.0.19 Community Edition (GA)

This is a bug fix release of MySQL 5.0. This release includes the following new features and changes:

  • Added the mysql_upgrade program that checks all tables for incompatibilities with the current version of MySQL Server and repairs them if necessary.
  • Added the –wait-timeout option to mysqlmanager to allow configuration of the timeout for dropping an inactive connection.
  • Resolved a number of performance issues that had previously been encountered when using statements that repeatedly invoked stored functions.
  • And More.

First Release of MySQL Workbench (Beta)

MySQL Workbench is a database design tool for MySQL. MySQL objects such as tables, routines and views can be created and edited. Their visual representation on the canvas enables you to quickly understand and work efficiently with complex and simple database schemas. Feature highlights include:
