New Release of MySQL (4.1.3 Beta) is Now Available

This is a first beta development release, adding new features and fixing recently discovered bugs. This release includes:

  • Language specific collations were added for the ucs2 and utf8 Unicode character sets.
  • Support for per-connection time zones was added. Now you can select current time zone for connection by setting system @@time_zone variable to a value such as "+10:00" or "Europe/Moscow"
  • OPTIMIZE TABLE for InnoDB tables is now mapped to ALTER TABLE instead of ANALYZE TABLE

New Release of MySQL Connector/J (3.1.3 Beta) is Now Available

This is the first beta release of the 3.1 series that is suitable for use with either MySQL-4.1 or MySQL-5.0 (and is required when using server-side prepared statements on MySQL-4.1.2 or newer). This release includes:

  • Added support for INOUT parameters in CallableStatements.
  • Use SQL Standard SQL states by default, unless 'useSqlStateCodes' property is set to 'false'.
  • Added packet debugging code (see the 'enablePacketDebug' property documentation)

MaxDB by MySQL 7.5.00.15 is Now Available

This is a maintenance release of the production version of MaxDB. This version includes:

  • In a liveCache instance the garbage collector tasks wil be resumed immediately after the prepare phase of the savepoint has finished, provided that the savepoint reason is not shutdown
  • The compilation of a db-procedure, trigger or db-function requires less stack inside the kernel. This avoids stack overflows which occurred on several platforms by internal tests.
  • In case an administrator wants to recover log but the log volume is in the state "History Lost" there is an error message printed now into the knldiag which makes it easy to understand why recover log is forbidden.
