MySQL AB has released a new FAQ on Tech Support, v. 3.0, effective February 15th, 2003. Major changes include:
* Our lower cost "Standard" support customers are now free to use MySQL 4.0, starting with 4.0.11, which has reached Gamma (near-stable) status.
* Tech support is now available for the new MySQL 4.1 branch which features sub-selects and GIS (geographic data) among many other new features. (Previously 4.1 was ineligible for tech support.)
* New operating systems supported are QNX and Novell NetWare.
* All support customers above "Entry-Level" are now entitled to support on other major MySQL AB products - the Connector/J and Connector/ODBC interfaces and the MySQL Control Center GUI client tool.
* First level technical support is now also offered in German. For details, see separate article elsewhere in this newsletter.
