Emic Application Cluster (EAC) for MySQL enables multiple physical databases act as a one virtual and transparent database entity.
EAC's replication provides 100% database consistency between all cluster nodes, while retaining an almost linear performance scalability: 1) EAC combines advantages of synchronous and asychronous replication -- consistency and speed. 2) A cluster of 2-3 Intel-based servers with EAC will outperform and is more reliable than a more expensive, single RISC-based server. 3) EAC delivers high availability, with failover times less than one second and no single-point-of-failure.
