For the first edition of the book (published November 2007), this section lists errors in the text and contains better versions of pictures that are hard to read in the printed version.

Errors in the Text

Page xx, section 10: "To make it easier...the accompanying CD-ROM..." should not be there. The MySQL 5.1 Cluster Certification Study Guide does not include a CD-ROM. Instead, the world database should be downloaded from the MySQL documentation site, and modified as described in Appendix A of the study guide.
Page 16, first paragraph: "...it very important to provide..." should read "...it is very important to provide..."
Page 19, second bullet point: --ndb-cluster should be --ndbcluster.
Page 23, first bullet in the list: "Partition P1: ... (The primary replicas are labeled in black and the secondary replicas in red)" should read: "Partition P1: ... (The primary replicas F1, F3, F2, F4 appear in the upper part of de data nodes and are indicated in a black font, the secondary replicas F3, F1, F4, F2 appear in the bottom part of the data nodes and are printed in a lighter, gray font)"
Page 26, answer 4: "Answer a (Authentication)" should be "Answer a (It is also known as an executive node)"
Page 31, last full sentence on page: "...data to disks" should read "data to disk"
Page 32, first paragraph: The last sentence should read, "The SQL node then contacts a data node, which becomes its transaction coordinator, with the request."
Page 35, second paragraph: "For example, in a two-node, two-replica cluster..." should read, "For example, in a four-node, two-replica cluster..."
Page 36, fourth paragraph: "...from the nod group's current primary node." should read, "...from the node group's current primary node."
