Simulation tools for planning Vitamin D studies including approximation of power. Individual vitamin D status profiles are simulated, modelling population heterogeneity. Individuals experience random exposures to infectious agents. Development of infection considers a heterogeneous treatment effect. This is incorporated into the power approximation.
