FuseSMBtool


This was originally made for Zenwalk, but was modified to work on Linux Mint 3.0 XFCE Community Edition, by merlwiz79. 

Description:

Locations:
  1. XFCE Menu -->Network -->FuseSmb Tool
  2. XFCE 4 mintConfig --> Networking --> FuseSmb Tool

FuseSMBtool on LiveCD:
Setting User Privileges to use FuseSMBtool:
  1. Open Users and Groups from the XFCE menu System --> Users and Groups.
  2. Double Click the User Name that is used to login.
  3. Click User Privileges.
  4. Check the box next to Allow use of fuse filesystems like LTSP Thin Client block devices.
  5. Click OK and Close Users Settings.
  6. Now restart the system.
Error messages:
  1. This is the first time running the program and this file has not be created yet.
  2. This file is was deleted or renamed.
  3. The Permissions was changed to the .smb folder or the fusesmbtool.conf file.
  1. The User Privileges has not been set, see Setting User Privileges to use FuseSMBtool .
  1. FuseSMBtool does not allow the mountpoint to have any files in it, move these file to connect the mountpoint.
Removing:
  1. Open Terminal and execute this command.
    sudo aptitude purge fusesmbtool
  2. Answer Y when asks Do you want to continue? [Y/n/?]
